yep, both of my cameras do not work anymore. God knows what my little sister did to the camera I gave her, it refuses to turn on. My roommate in my freshman year of college was drunk and unconciously pissed all over a bin of electronic shit I had. Unfortunitely this is where I had my camera, 900$ worth of damage. Thanks brandon! This happened a few weeks ago and I'm not getting the money back for it as of yet.

So yes, thats right - no more pictures until I can afford a new one.

I've disassembled the coolpix, and it's focus servo wont stop trying to pull the lens inwards towards the CCD and is grinding gears uncontrollably. None of the buttons work. It's trashed. :.(
Christmas rolled around and my father surprised me with a Nikon S10.... I'm excited I have a camera that turns on now, but extremely disappointed that this is a step in the wrong direction. Although there are 2million more pixels than any camera I have ever owned, the CCD is much more noisy at the same ISO levels as the coolpix 4500, - so noisy, that resizing down to 4M doesn't make the noise unnoticeable. The worst part, is it's INCAPABLE of manual focus and is basically a consumer level camera, so no ISO, shutter, or any other manual features other than focus 'zones'....... It was a very generous gift from my father, but to be honest, a let down in my heart, macro is extremely limited as well.
